She is the first to admit it, so we’ll tell you upfront—Pennie loves reality TV. It started with American Idol and continues today with her other faves, Dancing with the Stars and Top Chef. While she cannot sing, dance, or whip up a gourmet meal, she’s mastered marketing and communications, a career she launched while working for a State Legislature. Vying for the blue ribbon of favorite things to market is county fairs, annual events where lifetime family memories are made.
Committed to staying ahead of the curve in the ever-changing digital marketing environment, in 2019, Pennie completed Columbia Business School‘s Emeritus Institute of Management program in digital marketing, customer engagement, social media, planning, and analytics. Pennie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from California Baptist University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2015. Previously, she was honored by her peers with the Maree Hawkins Communications Professional of the Year Award from the Central Valley Public Relations Organization for her commitment and excellence to the profession.
Through her passion for cancer awareness advocacy, Pennie was a recipient of the Community Quarterback Award from the San Francisco 49ers for her volunteer work as a co-founder of the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of California. Professionally, she is a member of the Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce, the Tennessee Association of Fairs, the Public Relations Society of America, Solo PR Pros and the American Marketing Association.
